"A nice start" - a review by pearly

In Rachel Griffiths's directorial debut, the short film Tulip, Charles 'Bud' Tingwell plays Will, a man who has recently become a widower. If you can use the word "cute" to describe a film without the usage coming across as patronising, then it would probably be a good word to use in this instance.

I've been a fan of Tingwell's work since his collaborations with the Working Dog guys, and he doesn't disappoint here. While he's good in comedic roles, it's nice to see him as a contemplative old man in this slightly more serious film.

Tulip is uniquely Australian, and there are certainly worse ways to spend 15 minutes of your time.

pearly gives this movie 8 out of 10.

  1. I thik this movie is also pretty cute however it reminds me alot like the book belinda the cow by pamela allen. It is a satisfying movie however i think that it is a bit too dull and there need to be more things happening for the short time it goes for.
