"The beginnings of a career" - a review by pearly

Deep Dive is a simple, one minute animation made by Sarah Watt in one of her earliest efforts, clearly whilst still at uni. It's a very colourful film, done in a simple drawn style of the kind where the whole thing kinda moves and shakes, making the whole screen animated, rather than just the characters.

In it, a young woman dives into the water, and we see her discoveries just under the surface. This theme of water, and of females as her central characters, is to become a bit of a running exploration for Watt, so it was nice to see where it all began. In its simplicity, it is one of her nicest films.

pearly gives this movie 7 out of 10.
