"Contains a nuclear explosion! HURRAH!" - a review by timchuma

Joey Faust is sprung from a state prison with the help of Laura. He is a notorious bank robber and master safe-cracker and is recruited by Major Krenner to steal fissionable material for experiments.

Dr Ulov has developed a ray that makes people invisible and they test it on a guinea pig. We later learn that he didn't want to do it, but the Major is holding his daughter captive. The plan is to use the technology to make an invisible army.

They successfully make Joey invisible and he negotiates another deal with the Major while choking him. The raid is successful, but the Doctor does not want to use the X-13 isotope before he has time to study it.

When the Major threatens his daughter again, he agrees to do it. Joey then decides to rob a bank instead of the nuclear vault again and things go awry.

There have been many invisible man stories over the years, but it was great to see one of the originals that inspired them. As you would expect, the special effects look a bit dated, but they still tell the story very well.

I also liked that it only had a few characters, so we concentrated on what they were doing and not all the big action like most modern movies.

While this movie is not up there with some of the more classic science fiction movies, it is still a lot of fun.

timchuma gives this movie 6 out of 10.
