"‘Wildlife? You should see one of our nightclubs!’" - a review by timchuma

Jean arrives in Akabar, India with the Colonel and the professor looking for her fiancée Greg, who has gone missing on an expedition. They arrive at the worst possible time however, as the city is experiencing unrest. Checking into a hotel, they just manage to learn about the fate of the last expedition that left via a tiger-infested flashback when there is a shooting and they have to leave in a hurry.

Arriving in Africa, they make their way to the settlement of KYBO where their expedition will be leaving from. As you will expect, the man they ask to be their guide on the expedition doesn't like taking women out as they would just get in the way.

This movie has everything you would expect from an expedition to deepest, darkest Africa including a great bit of biffo where most of the furniture gets trashed.

What I liked most about it were the characters such as Gary Lambert the guide and his pet crow Jimmy. He is the man of action and gets to wrestle with lions and do all the manly stuff you would expect.

Comic relief is provided by Gabby the cook and his pet monkey Olo. Also ‘the professor’ gets to make some good cracks and look at insects at inopportune times.

The Queen Xeeda of the title is also as feisty as you expect and provides a great contrast to most of the male characters.

I would recommend this movie if you enjoy the old fashioned expedition tale — with all the trimmings.

timchuma gives this movie 6 out of 10.
